Year 7 Book Covers: People’s Choice Award!

Posted: June 14, 2013 in Competitions

Hello everybody!  We were delighted to be absolutely inundated with votes over the last couple of weeks as the Year y book covers battled it out for the prestigious People’s Choice Award.  Competition was fierce but when the votes were finally tallied one winner emerged victorious, taking out the award by a very slim margin!

We are very pleased, therefore, to present the winner of this year’s People’s Choice Award:  Lily Chen of 7S3, who created a beautiful cover for Spirit Bound, the fifth book in Richelle Mead’s popular Vampire Academy series.  Feast your eyes of Lily’s artwork below:

The librarians also got involved, as we do each year, and had a wonderful time looking at all of the book covers before finally selecting three of our favourites for the Librarians’ Choice Awards.  Our awards went to: Rachel Seng of 7S2 for her colourful cover of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland; Ruby Edwards-Smith of 7B3 for her wittily zoological cover of Gerald Durrell’s My Family and Other Animals; and Vanessa So for her kawaii but slightly blood-spattered take on Jackie French’s A Rose for the Anzac Boys.
